At DBT-UK, we are passionate about equipping mental health professionals with the skills and confidence to support clients in distress. And this summer, we’re excited to be offering a brand-new in-person DBT training programme in the heart of London. Whether you’re new to Dialectical Behaviour Therapy or looking to build on existing knowledge, this three-day intensive is designed to help you improve your therapeutic practice with real-world DBT skills and applications.

Why Attend In-Person DBT Training?

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy is a highly structured, evidence-based approach particularly effective in supporting individuals with emotional dysregulation, self-harming behaviours, and personality difficulties. While there are plenty of online resources available, nothing quite matches the connection, engagement, and depth of learning that in-person training offers.

Our upcoming course provides an immersive experience where you’ll have the chance to learn directly from experienced DBT practitioners, take part in practical exercises, and connect with other professionals in the field.

What Will You Learn?

This training is aimed at professionals who work with individuals presenting with complex emotional and behavioural needs – whether in CAMHS, adult mental health, education, social care, or private practice.

Over the course of three days, you will:

✅ Gain an understanding of clients who present with personality difficulties and engage in self-harming or risky behaviours
✅ Learn how to help patients regulate intense emotions and tolerate distress
✅ Be equipped to deliver psycho-educational content and skills training confidently
✅ Develop your ability to balance acceptance and change in your therapeutic approach

The sessions will combine teaching, discussion, skills demonstrations, and group activities to ensure the content is accessible, relevant, and immediately applicable to your clinical work.

Who Should Attend?

This training is suitable for a wide range of professionals, including but not limited to:

  • Clinical and counselling psychologists
  • Mental health nurses
  • Social workers
  • Counsellors and psychotherapists
  • Support workers
  • School counsellors and pastoral staff
  • Trainees and newly qualified professionals

No prior experience in DBT is required. However, some grounding in therapeutic work is beneficial to make the most of the course.
